We surpassed the production record, with 3 million tons of sugar cane and 700 million pounds of sugar, and we obtained FSSC 22000 Certification (Food Safety System Certification).

We obtained our first ISO 9001 Certification over a decade ago; to this day our operations are based on continuous improvement.

We implemented a continuous bin and a pair of mills that was a pioneering industrial automation project in Central America.

The refinery was installed in order to produce high-quality sugar, starting with sulphated white sugar, with a capacity of 500 tons of sweetener per day. Furthermore, the refined sugar warehouse has a storage capacity of 40,000 tons.

Cogeneration began during the harvest, delivering 800 KW of power to National Power Company and surpassing one hundred million pounds of packaged sugar, with 500,000 tons of ground cane.

This year marked the beginning of the first sugar cane cutting sugar operations.

The bulk sugar cane transportation service began.

The first harvest, which was performed as a test, ground 154,973.75 tons of sugar cane, producing 23,952,500 pounds of sugar in 136 days; the capacity at that time was 3,500 tons/day.

A group of entrepreneurs acquired part of Ingenios Santa Juana and Canóvanas from Puerto Rico. This team began to build Ingenio Santa Ana, which was located on the “Cerritos” property, 64.5 km south of Guatemala City in the department of Escuintla.
